  1. What physical skills, emotions, and personality/character traits are  astralnaut candidates tested on?
  2. What are the testers looking for in an astralnaut?
  3. How do you think you’d perform on the astralnaut tests? Where do you think you would excel in these tests?  What areas would you have difficulty with?

  1. 1. What physical skills, emotions, and personality/character traits are astralnaut candidates tested on?
I think that they are tested on how well they can handle being in a small space, how well they work with other people, and how well they work under pressure.
    2. What are the testers looking for in an astralnaut?
I think they test for if they can work with other people, if they can work under pressure and if they can work in a small space.
    3. How do you think you’d perform on the astralnaut tests? Where do you think you would excel in these tests? What areas would you have difficulty with?
I don’t think I would do well in the astralnaut tests because I don’t work well under pressure, I fear falling from high places and I dislike being in small spaces. I don’t think I would excel in any of the tests because most of them you have to work somewhere cramped, fall from high places or run. I would probably have difficulty with all of the tests but would do worst in the running, land dive and doing math in a small pod with other people. Overall I wouldn’t do it.

  2. 1. What physical skills, emotions, and personality/character traits are astralnaut candidates tested on?
I think that the astralnauts are trained on their ability to work together, their way to stand people, their strength, their agility, their sanity, and their mind.
    2. What are the testers looking for in an astralnaut?
I think they are looking for people with strength, agility and sanity. The testers are looking at them carefully for all these traits. I Think that the astralnauts are watched to be street smart.
    3. How do you think you’d perform on the astralnaut tests? Where do you think you would excel in these tests? What areas would you have difficulty with?
I would not do well as an astralnaut. I would be angry and I would have anger problems. I would excel at mind tests but not physical or being able to stand people tests.

  3. Astralnauts are tested on their ability to work under pressure and with a time limit, their ability to work with weightlessness, their physical strength, their ability to work in extreme temperatures and their ability to work in confined spaces. I think the testers are looking for people, who are almost always calm, know how to pilot some type of aircraft and people who can co-operate easily with others. I do not think that I would be good at many of the tests because I am extremely claustrophobic and am bad at working under pressure. I am also afraid of heights so the test where you have to solve a rubix cube while falling I would fail at every time. I do not think I would make the astralnaut program because of those, I am not a big fan of being in confined spaces with other people and I have no interest in going to space.

2.They are looking for air worthy, brave and used to technology.
3.I think I would perform as an average. I would be up in the mix, but no make it. I would excel at the underwater and obstacle course, I would fail at the scrambler because I have motion sickness.

    1. It's the multi-tasking that would be toughest for me, Branden. I'd not be able to solve a Rubic's cube while dangling from a bungee cord! I'm not sure you would have to excel at everything though: Matt wasn't particularly good under water, but he made up for it in other areas. You never know, your strength in some tests might be enough.

  5. The physical skills, emotions, and personality they need is funny some times and series there is many different ways the astronaut candidates were tested and the different tasks they had to perform. The testers are looking for in an astronaut that is funny some times and series some times and they need to be able to finish all the tests with not too many mistakes. I do not make it to outer space because the tests are very hard and definitely to hard. BEN

  6. 1) Some of the traits that the candidates were physically tested on were: the spider; a large machine that spins you around and upside down while you try to copy a pattern. Another physical test was the land dives were the candidates were tested on their jumping skills by climbing on to a high platform and then bungee jumping off of it. The last physical test I remember is a test were the candidates were sitting in a bathtub of ice-cold water and were tested on their reactions to undergoing questioning while being uncomfortable. I think these tests helped them see the candidates endurance and bravery.
    2) I think they are looking for an astralnaut, who is helpful, can do tasks under stress, is loyal to the other members of the program, and is brave.
    3) For me I think I would perform moderately well in the tests but personally I don’t want to go to space. In the tests I think I would excel in the spider and the land dives because I like going upside-down and going fast and I am not afraid of heights. I think I would have difficulty in the underwater tests because of the suits you have to wear while doing it, as I am very claustrophobic.

  7. 1. I think that Matt and other astralnaut candidates are being tested on working together and how well they can work together. I also think that they are also tested on how well they can be useful on the ship aka the Starclimber and it will show how far they can go in a situation.
    2. The testers are looking for astralnauts that can move quickly in a situation and that can take charge or be the leader when the captain is knocked down or something happened to him. They also look for people who can work together easily.
    3. If I was chosen to take part in the first ever outer space voyage I would go but I wouldn’t have lots of confidence in myself because all the tests would be really hard and I wouldn’t be able to make it. Martin

I think the testers are looking for a confident and brave astralnaut to go up to space. I think I wouldn’t do very well on these tests because I hate small spaces and I don’t like heights. 10. One of the physical test the candidates had to do were on motion sickness and what they had to do was get into a small room called the ‘spider ‘and they got span around. Another one was on how they could react when they are under stress and they had to get in cold icy water. Another one was on their jumping skills and they had to jump of a high platform. I think why they got tested on these things were so they knew what it would feel like up in space. What I think the testers are looking for in an astralnaut is that they can do the tasks without them being under stress and how fast the can do it and if they are brave. If I were taking the tasks I think I would be good at jumping skills because motion sickness is not my thing.

  11. 1.) I think that the astralnauts are tested on their stamina, speed and their reactions because there are some people on the starclimber that react weird when something mysterious happens. They need cleverness solve solutions too.
2.) The testers are looking for how people use their stamina, speed, reactions and cleverness because there are so many drills that they need to use all their unique skills they have because at anytime there can be a invasion of the Babalites.
3.) I think I would have a low percentage because I am not as good in all of these skills that you need to become an astralnaut. I think I will excel in reactions and stamina but I would have difficulties in speed and cleverness. Simmy.

  12. 1. One of the physical traits would probably be looking for them not to be to young smart not to cocky to. They would want someone that is would be able to go high up. Someone that is brave to be an astralnaut to go in to space. They would need someone that can take the pressure. They would also want someone that can focus weal at some times.
    2. They probably looking for strong, smart, brave, focused, works weal under pressure, stays on task, isn’t to young and never distracted. They would like the people who are good at tasks. Those who have been in the air before. Those who don’t get sick spinning in a circle in a chair. They also want good people
    3. I would do badly when you jump off the platform. I would do well on the spinning one. I would do my best to get to space. I also would do badly at the cold water test. And bad at the waking up early thing.

You work well under pressure in class: sometimes I've asked you a question on the spot and you are able to think through it, despite the stress, and answer it. You don't have to be good at everything either: look at Tobias. He was picked, but he was terrible at the land diving and the parawings.

My opinion of what the astralnaut candidates are being tested on how well they can work under pressure, how well they can focus on something with another thing happening, how fast they can fix something, how they will be able to handle a situation with no gravity and how calm they are when a difficult assignment is handed to them.
    2. The testers are looking for a strong, calm, fast, smart, brave, a good leader, and has good sportsmanship.
    3. I think I would perform the astralnaut tests all right. I think I would be good at the underwater tasks. Areas I would have difficulty with were the ones where you get spun everywhere and you have to solve a problem.

  14. Maybe some of the other tests might be the fastest runner because if there is a hole in the spaceship then you can run from one side of the ship to the other and help close the gap. Maybe the strongest person on the ship could be useful too. The specialties for the people on the spaceship might be calm because if something bad happens then you need to be calm. You might need to be not scared of heights so you can do things in the air like free falling. I would be good at everything because I am a star at everything especially sky diving.

  18. Question # 1: The astralnauts are tested on many different skills such as: their athletic ability, how well they cope with danger, if they can work well with the other candidates, how well they multi-task, if they work well under pressure, if they work well in very little gravity, and plenty of other skills. Some emotions the astralnauts should have are: calmness and good spirited. Some personality traits they are probably looking for are: good leadership, smart, and happy.
Question # 2: The testers are looking for someone not to young who works well in different conditions.
Question # 3: I think I’d perform fairly well. I would excel in the areas that I needed to use my brain because I think I am pretty smart. I would also do well in the running, climbing and jumping tests. I would also do well under water because I am a very good swimmer. I would have difficulty working in small areas. I also have trouble keeping my temper low, and I get VERY motion sick. I probably wouldn’t get on the ship for several reasons. ~Catherine

    2. The testers are looking for the astralnauts to be able to survive without air and gravity. They do not want the astralnauts to not be afraid or scared like not to panic if a meteor is coming their way.

    3. I might jut fail the test because I not good breathing with the little air and I will be really afraid if there was no gravity. The areas that would be difficult with me is the small space test and the hard math.

How well they do when they are up high. If they can be in a closed up space for a long time. How they do in emergencies, do they panic are they calm those are things they might be tested on.

    2) Testers might be looking for if they are ok to be in a closed space if they can be with certain people for a certain amount of time. They also might be looking for agility maybe strength. Some of the testers could be looking for if they can do well when they are going at high speeds. Those are some of the things that the testers might be looking for.

    3) If I was doing the astralnaut test I don’t think I would do very well because I don’t like spinning I don’t like being up high such as going up in space. The physical skills are fastest mover in the water. Fastest solving a puzzle when you fall. The fastest to make it through the obstacle course.

    1. I think you'd be a good candidate, Cole. You have a sense of humour, but you also have a serious side. You're inquisitive and you look at a situation or a person before you react or speak. I think you have leadership skills, and that would be valuable. I'm not sure they just looking for the fastest and the strongest; they're probably looking for a team player too. If you're leading a team and one person is lagging behind, what would you do?

  31. 1) I think the physical skills and emotions astronaut candidates are tested on maybe are good in tight places, they can work quickly in a time limit, how good they can work up high and if they can work well in emergencies. Also they want them to be calm and not scared.

    2) Testers are looking for in astronauts how well they work under pressure, how fast the can work and maybe how well they can work in tight spaces.

    3) I think I would perform well up high and in tight spaces, I wouldn’t work could in a emergency and in a time limit.
